It is a passenger ship of superlatives. With 150,000 grt is the Queen Mary 2 the Cunard Line the biggest, longest (345 m), the highest (with 72 m, it is higher than the freedom stature) and prachtvollste passenger ship ever built. On 14 stylish, luxuriously furnished Passenger decks can hold up to 2.620 passengers, in addition to further 1.253 crew. With your long and elegant fuselage and the powerful drive (max. 29 kn) was designed especially for trans-Atlantic trips; of Europe (Southampton, England) to North America (New York) in 6 days. The concept for the Queen Mary 2 was established in May 1998, after another two years development time, the order will be awarded to a French shipyard in November 2000 and the transfer to the Cunard Line took place on 22. December 2003. Only after the hibernation in the Caribbean took the ship in April 2004 the regular trans-Atlantic service. The Queen Mary 2 continues the tradition of great progress and thus contributes to the North Atlantic travel continuation of the era of ocean travel, which are already completed.
