Soviet 7.62mm machinegun Maxim with water cooling was the principle machinegun of the Red army and was extensively used during Great Patriotic war. It was belt-fed and used standard riffle ammo. The belt included 250 cartridges. The machinegun could fire up to 600 shots in a minute. To facilitate transporting of the heavy machinegun (its weight was about 70 kg) was used Sokolov's wheel carriage.
