How to Enter
- Build a Tamiya model kit and/or diorama of a car or motorbike
- Builds must be new builds for 2025 and not submitted to other competitions.
- Fill out Google Form to submit your entries
- Provide the build name, your age, suburb, and state.
- Each submission must include a short write-up about the build. This could be a commentary on the build process, tips & tricks for aspiring modellers, or what you enjoyed most about the build.
- Submit up to 5 photos and/or 1 video:
Only the best 4 photos will be used for public voting.
Videos serve as supporting material and can help increase your chances of winning the Hobbyco’s Choice Award. - Hobbyco will post the submitted entries on its official Facebook / Instagram pages within 1-2 business days.
Voting Mechanism
Judged based on the total number of Facebook / Instagram likes, comments, and shares.
Each interaction = 1 vote (1 like + 1 comment + 1 share = 3 votes).
There will be four winners per category, including the Hobbyco Choice Award.
Hobbyco’s Choice Award – Selected by Hobbyco’s expert team based on: Finish quality (paint job, detailing, etc.). Difficulty of the build (complexity, techniques used). Customisation (modifications, additional detailing).
The Grand Prize winner will be handpicked by Hobbyco’s owner, Big Mike from all entries.
Submission period: May 1st – May 31st.
Winners announced: June 4th on Hobbyco’s official social channels and website.

Terms and Conditions:
1. Eligibility
Open to all Australian residents.
Limited to TAMIYA Cars and Motorbikes Model Kits only.
Entries must be submitted via Google Form only.
Builds must be a new build for 2025 and must not have been submitted to any other competition.
2. Entry Guidelines & Fair Play
No AI-generated entries: All submitted builds must be created and completed by the entrant. AI-generated images, renders, or modifications will result in immediate disqualification.
We encourage a positive and supportive community where participants respect one another’s work. Any form of bashing, negativity, or unsportsmanlike behaviour—including but not limited to public criticism, belittling other entries, or creating a hostile environment—may result in disqualification. Let’s keep the competition fun, fair, and inspiring for everyone.
No fraudulent engagement: Participants must not use fake accounts, bots, or spam methods to artificially promote their entry. Any attempts to manipulate the competition, including excessive sharing from duplicate or fake profiles, will result in disqualification.
Genuine hobbyist participation: Hobbyco reserves the right to investigate and verify the authenticity of entries. If an entry is suspected to be inauthentic, the participant will be required to provide proof of their build process (e.g., WIP photos).
3. Publicity & Content Usage
By entering the competition, participants grant Hobbyco the right to use their submitted photos, videos, and related content for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, website content, and marketing materials.
4. Winner Selection & Notification
Winners will be notified via email and announced on Hobbyco’s official social media channels.
Winners must respond within seven (7) days to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture, and an alternate winner may be selected.
5. Disqualification
Hobbyco reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:
Violates these terms and conditions.
Contains inappropriate, offensive, or plagiarised content.
Is determined to be AI-generated, manipulated, or submitted fraudulently.
Is an older build that has been submitted to other competitions.
6. Competition Modification or Cancellation
Hobbyco reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be communicated through Hobbyco’s official social media channels.
7. Agreement to Terms
By participating in the Tamiya Battle of the Builds: Cars & Motorbikes, entrants agree to abide by these terms and conditions and any decisions made by Hobbyco, which are final and binding.
