Why this aircraft matters
ZK-NEC became part of Air Nelson in late 2005. It carried the first Dash 8-300 new-built for that regional subsidiary. It flew from Canada to New Zealand and began service on the Nelson–Wellington route in November 2005.
It joined the wider Air New Zealand Link fleet under Air New Zealand’s own certificate in November 2019.
The Dash 8-300 brings 50-seat turboprop efficiency to regional flying. It earned trust for reliability and comfort on short-haul routes.
By April 2024, Air New Zealand still operated a fleet of these turboprops, underscoring their long-term value.
This model captures a living link to regional aviation in New Zealand. It marks both fleet evolution and local service endurance.
How to use it
Place it proudly on your shelf, desk, or showcase. The included stand allows for an impressive in-flight angle. This model comes factory-finished, needing no additional tools, glue, or paint.
