Heller 1/24 Citroen Mehari (Ver. 1) Model Kit
Citroen Mehari is a French off-road passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1968. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 1987 - about 145,000 copies of this car were produced during it.
Citroen Mehari was designed and put into production as a new model in the company's offer, without having its direct predecessor. It was designed by Roland de La Poype. The goal of the designers was to create the lightest and cheap to produce off-road vehicle possible. Mehari's design has been heavily based on the 2CV model in order to lower the cost of research and development. The main and most important difference is the body, which is largely made of plastic and reduces the weight of the vehicle. The engines with a capacity of 0.6 liters and 26 and 29 HP were used as the drive. Citroen Mehari has successfully served as a medical unit in many Paris-Dakar rallies. It was also used by the French army and gendarmerie.
Since 1957 Heller has been producing legendary model kits in Trun, France. From small airplanes to giant sailing ships, the range inspires beginners as well as model building professionals all over the world.
