Why this kit matters

The Westland Whirlwind was one of the first British twin-engine fighter aircraft to enter operational service during the Second World War. It was designed around heavy cannon armament, giving it strong firepower compared to many early-war fighters.

Despite promising performance, production was limited due to engine supply issues with the Rolls-Royce Peregrine. Only a small number of Whirlwinds reached frontline service, mainly with RAF Fighter Command in the early years of the war. It proved effective in low-level strike missions against enemy transport and ground targets across occupied Europe.

How to use it

Build using paint, glue, and modelling tools such as sprue cutters, sanding sticks, and fine brushes. Once complete, display as part of a WWII RAF or twin-engine fighter collection.s.
