Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American flying boat and later, from the PBY-5A version, an amphibious aircraft. It is one of the most famous and widespread seaplanes of World War II. In addition to the United States Navy, he entered service in other countries. He is best known for the unveiling of the Japanese fleet bound for Midway Atoll. There was one of the decisive battles of the war in the Pacific and also the discovery of the battleship Bismarck on May 26, 1941 during its pursuit by the British in the Atlantic.
