Description
The HO KP001 model replicates the historic KP mail vans built by Ritchie Bros. in 1912, featuring Indian Red sides and a Silver Roof. These vans originally had tongue and groove siding before being rebuilt with plywood in the 1960s. Designed to carry four postal workers sorting late mail en route, they served key mail routes across Australia, including the North Coast and South West Mails. This model incorporates the Austrains chassis with authentic plain bearing bogies, capturing the detail and legacy of these essential railway vans used until 1985.
