Why this kit matters
The Kawasaki KI-61 Hien was one of the few Japanese fighters of the Second World War powered by a liquid cooled inline engine. Its design gave it a slimmer nose profile than most Japanese aircraft, leading Allied pilots to mistake it for German or Italian fighters during early encounters.
The Type 3 Fighter saw service from 1943 and fought in New Guinea, China, the Philippines, and the defence of Japan. The Model 1 Tei variant featured improved armament and structure, making it one of the key versions used in front line combat.
How to use it
Build the fuselage, wings, and tail using plastic model glue. Paint in your chosen Imperial Japanese Army scheme, apply decals, and seal with a clear coat. Display proudly once finished, at home or in your collection cabinet.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
