Why this kit matters

The Kriegsfischkutter, often shortened to KFK, started as a fishing trawler design before being adapted by Germany during World War II for military service. These versatile vessels carried out patrol duties, convoy escort work, anti-submarine missions, and minesweeping operations across European coastal waters. Their small size and practical construction allowed them to operate in shallow and confined areas where larger warships could not.

More than 600 KFK vessels were planned during the war, making them one of the most widely produced auxiliary naval craft used by Germany. Their simple but effective design combined civilian fishing vessel features with military equipment such as deck guns and minesweeping gear. The Kriegsfischkutter became an important support vessel during coastal defence operations and remains a unique subject for naval historians and ship model collectors.

How to use it

Build using plastic model glue, hobby paints, sprue cutters, sanding tools, and fine brushes for deck and rigging details. Carefully assemble the hull, deck structures, and weapons before applying decals and weathering effects. Display the completed ship on the included stand or within a harbour-themed diorama.

This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
