Revell 1/72 PBY-5A Catalina
The PBY Catalina is the world's most famous and most used flying boat in the history of aviation. Its main characteristic's are the tear-drop shaped gun positions on the fuselage sides.
It also has self-sealing fuel tanks. The PBY became the US Navy's standard patrol aircraft from 1941 onwards. In addition to long distance reconnaissance and convoy protection the Catalina's main role was to detect and attack enemy ships and submarines.
Revell has been entertaining, inspiring, and educating model builders for over 70 years. Revell brand is a testament to the popularity of detailed plastic model kits that are affordably priced. Launched in 1943, Revell initially produced a wide range of products, including train sets, scale buildings and "action pull toys" recreating some of America's most popular automobiles.
