Ansett Australia was a major Australian airline founded by Reg Ansett in 1935 as Ansett Airways Pty Ltd. Renamed Ansett-ANA with ANA’s purchase in October 1957, Ansett Airlines of Australia in November 1968 until 1990 when it became Ansett Australia. The airline commenced international services on September 11, 1993.
Placed into administration in 2001 and liquidated in 2002. Subsidiary airlines; Ansett New Zealand, Kendell Airlines, Hazelton Airlines, Aeropelican Air Services, Skywest Airlines, East-West Airlines.
