    Why this kit matters

The Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 was one of the fastest piston engine fighters ever built. Entering service with the Royal Navy in the late 1940s, it was developed from the Hawker Fury lineage and powered by the powerful Bristol Centaurus radial engine. Its strong airframe and folding wings made it ideal for carrier operations.

The Sea Fury saw combat during the Korean War, flying ground attack and fighter missions. It became one of the few piston engine aircraft to shoot down a jet aircraft in combat, when a Sea Fury claimed a MiG-15 in 1952. The FB.11 variant served with several nations and later found a second life in air racing. A 1/48 scale plastic model kit of the Sea Fury captures the final chapter of front line piston powered naval fighters.
