An avalanche barrier is a construction, which prevents the development and lapse of avalanches. It is supposed to protect infrastructure such as settlements, traffic routes and sport areas. Caused to the encroachment of humans in the alpine area, where the mountain forest or the protection forest isn't enough, further artifical methods need to be made such as firming the snow cover and preventing the lapse.
