What do the numbers indicate?
The first number, 1, represents the actual real-life object. The number following the colon or forward slash (e.g., 35, 48, 144, etc.), indicates how many times smaller the model is than the real-life object.

How do you read out the scale verbally correctly?

There are various ways to read out the scale verbally, all of which are equally correct and commonly used. For example, with 1:35 (or 1/35), you can say 'one thirty-fifth', 'one to thirty-five', 'one thirty-five', or even simply 'thirty-fifth scale'.

But how long is it?
This is a challenging question to answer when referring to scale, as different vehicles and objects vary in size in real life. For example, an Airbus A380 is far larger than a Boeing 737, and that difference in size will scale down equally.

FAQS About Diecast Aviation

What Makes Diecast Aviation Models So Popular?

Diecast aircraft are more than just miniature planes — they are scaled-down masterpieces. Whether it’s a QANTAS Dreamliner, an F-35 fighter jet, or a classic warbird, aviation diecast models capture every detail: the livery, the cockpit windows, even the landing gear.
Collectors love diecast aviation because it combines history, engineering, and art in a way that’s display-worthy. From tiny 1:500 models perfect for shelf displays to highly detailed 1:72 military jets, there’s a scale for every collector and every space.
