Why this kit matters

The Praetorian Guard was an elite unit of the Imperial Roman Army, serving as personal bodyguards to the Roman emperors. Established by Augustus in 27 BC, the Praetorians played a crucial role in Roman politics and military campaigns, often influencing the succession of emperors and the stability of the empire.

By the 2nd century AD, the Praetorian Guard had become a symbol of imperial power and prestige. Their distinctive armour, crested helmets, and disciplined formations set them apart from regular legionaries. This model kit offers a glimpse into the life and appearance of these renowned soldiers, making it a valuable addition for anyone interested in ancient history or military modelling.
