Why this aircraft matters
4X-ELA, named “Tel Aviv-Jaffa”, was one of the first Boeing 747-400s delivered to El Al in 1994. It served as a flagship for long-haul flights to cities like London, Paris, New York, and Bangkok for over 26 years.
This jet offered a four-class cabin layout—first, business, premium economy, and economy—carrying over 400 passengers on major international routes. The aircraft symbolised El Al’s global expansion. It helped launch nonstop services, such as the Tel Aviv–Los Angeles route, then one of the world’s longest at around 12,000 km.
Retired in 2019, 4X-ELA closed a 48-year legacy of 747 service in El Al’s fleet. Its departure marked the end of the Jumbo era for the Israeli airline. The limited-edition Aviationtag included with this model uses actual aircraft skin from 4X-ELA. That makes it a rare piece of aviation history, preserved in a tangible form.
You hold more than a plane. You hold a marker of transition—from national ambition to modern aviation. It carries legacy, craftsmanship, and history.
How to use it
Display it proudly on your desk, shelf, or within a diorama. The included stand lets you showcase it in flight. No tools, glue, or paints are needed; everything is factory-finished and ready for display.
This is a diecast model. It is fragile and not recommended for children.
