Interflug was the state airline of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany), operating from 1963 until 1991. The Ilyushin Il-18 was a four-engine turboprop airliner and one of the most successful Soviet-designed airliners, flown widely by Eastern Bloc carriers including Interflug.
