Why this aircraft matters
R6775 was flown by Flying Officer Jeffrey Quill during his short operational attachment to No. 65 Squadron from 6 August to 24 August 1940. During this period, Quill flew 36 operational sorties in the aircraft during the Battle of Britain.
Jeffrey Quill was also a Vickers and Supermarine test pilot who played a major role in the development of the Spitfire. He eventually test flew all 52 Spitfire variants, from the prototype K5054 through to the Mk.47 Seafire.
Livery and Finish
The model represents R6775 in its YT-J markings from No. 65 Squadron. The period finish reflects the aircraft flown by Quill during his 1940 operational service, giving your display a direct connection to the Battle of Britain.
How to use it
Display your model on its included base or cradle on a desk, shelf, cabinet or within a WWII aviation collection. The finished diecast model requires no paint, glue, modelling tools or assembly.
This is a diecast model. It is fragile and not recommended for kids.
