Why this kit matters

The Yakovlev Yak-3 became one of the Soviet Union’s most respected fighter aircraft during World War II. Entering service in 1944, it gained a strong reputation for agility, speed at low altitude, and combat effectiveness against German fighters on the Eastern Front. Pilots praised the aircraft for its lightweight handling and excellent manoeuvrability during dogfights.

The Normandie-Niemen squadron added a unique chapter to the Yak-3’s history. This French fighter group operated under Soviet command after France fell during the war. Flying Yak fighters against German forces, the squadron earned recognition for combat success and strong cooperation between French and Soviet air forces. Their aircraft carried distinctive French markings alongside Soviet insignia, making the livery highly recognisable among WWII aviation collectors.

How to use it

Build using plastic model glue, hobby paints, fine sanding tools, sprue cutters, and tweezers for the photo-etched details. Carefully follow the instruction manual during assembly and decal placement. Once completed, display the finished Yak-3 in a cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of a WWII aircraft collection.

This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
