Why this kit matters

The S-350E «Vityaz» is a Russian medium-range surface-to-air missile system (SAM), designed to intercept aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missile threats. Its 9M96 missiles are part of this system, providing modern air defence capability. The TEL (transporter erector launcher) chassis used, BAZ-6909, is a recent heavy wheeled vehicle platform, significant for its mobility and modern Russian engineering.

This HobbyBoss kit (No. 85529) represents one of the most ambitious modern weapon systems in scale modelling, released in 2023 with new tooling. With over 840 parts, full drive train, realistic tyres, slide-moulded cab, and even photo-etched detail, it gives modellers both challenge and satisfaction. Its substantial size (over 34 cm long) makes it a display piece as much as a build project.

How to use it

Build using modelling glue, cutters, files or sandpaper to clean parts. Paint using acrylic or enamel military colours (Russian green, metals, weathering). Organise parts (especially small or repeating ones) before assembly. Follow instructions carefully, apply decals, and once finished, display in a cabinet, shelf, or part of a larger SAM / modern military display.

This is a plastic model kit. Assembly is required. Paint and glue required (not included).
