Why this kit matters
The Normandy campaign in 1944 presented unique challenges to Allied forces due to the dense hedgerows (bocage) that crisscrossed the region. These hedgerows provided excellent cover for German defenders and made it difficult for tanks to maneuver. Special devices, like the "Rhino" modifications, were developed to allow tanks to break through the hedgerows.
