Why this kit matters
Object 279 was a Soviet heavy tank prototype developed in the late 1950s during a period of rapid armoured warfare experimentation. Its unusual four track chassis was designed to reduce ground pressure and improve mobility on soft terrain such as snow and marshland.
The tank also reflected Cold War concerns about nuclear warfare, with a rounded hull shape intended to deflect blast effects. Only one prototype was completed, making Object 279 one of the most recognisable and unusual armoured vehicles ever produced.
How to use it
Build using plastic cement and suitable modelling tools. Paint with Cold War era Soviet colours and weather as desired. Display proudly as a centrepiece in a cabinet or armoured vehicle lineup.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
