Why this kit matters

The IJN Nowaki was a Kagero-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy, renowned for its speed and firepower. She played a significant role in several key naval battles during World War II, including the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June 1944. This battle was one of the largest carrier-to-carrier engagements in history and marked a turning point in the Pacific War.

Nowaki’s participation in the battle and her subsequent actions highlight the bravery and tactical skill of her crew. The ship’s design and operational history make her a fascinating subject for scale modellers and naval historians alike. Building this kit offers a hands-on way to connect with a pivotal moment in maritime history.
