Details
A Medal of Honor ace's Corsair from the last year of the Pacific war.
Vought's gull-winged F4U Corsair was one of the outstanding fighters of the Second World War, and the F4U-4 was its most powerful wartime version. Captain Kenneth Walsh was one of the Marine Corps' leading Corsair aces, credited with 21 victories, and was the first Corsair pilot awarded the Medal of Honor.
By 1945 Walsh was flying the F4U-4 with VMF-222 from Awase on Okinawa. Hobby Master models his aircraft "Tokyo Raid" as it appeared that year, in 1:48 scale.
