Why this kit matters

The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the most powerful fighter-bombers of World War II, renowned for its ruggedness, heavy armament, and versatility. Serving in the Pacific Theatre, the P-47D-15/16 variants played a crucial role in ground attack missions, bomber escort, and air superiority, supporting Allied advances across the islands.

With its robust radial engine and distinctive profile, the Thunderbolt earned the nickname "Jug" among pilots. Its ability to absorb damage and deliver significant firepower made it a favourite among crews. This model kit captures the unique features of the PTO versions, offering a rewarding build for anyone interested in military aviation history.
