Why this kit matters

The Su-17M4 Fitter-K was a Soviet variable-sweep wing fighter-bomber, widely used by Warsaw Pact and allied air forces from the 1970s through the 1990s. Known for its rugged design and adaptability, the Su-17M4 played a key role in ground attack missions and was exported to numerous countries, making it a familiar sight in many conflicts during the late 20th century.

This aircraft featured advanced avionics for its time and could carry a wide range of weapons, from bombs to guided missiles. Its distinctive swing-wing design allowed for both high-speed flight and stable low-speed handling, making it a versatile asset in the field. Building this model offers a hands-on way to appreciate the engineering and history behind one of the Soviet Union’s most successful strike aircraft.
