    Why this kit matters

The XP-55 Ascender was developed during the early 1940s as part of a US Army Air Forces programme to explore unconventional fighter designs. Built by Curtiss-Wright, it featured a rear mounted pusher propeller and forward canard surfaces, aiming to improve speed and climb performance.

Only three prototypes were produced, and flight testing revealed handling challenges that limited its future. Despite this, the XP-55 remains one of the most recognisable experimental aircraft of the Second World War era. Its bold design reflects a period when aircraft engineers tested radical ideas in the search for air superiority.

    How to use it

Build using paint and glue. Display proudly once finished, at home or in your collection cabinet.

This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
