Since its founding in Pittsburgh in 1937 as a mail delivery service, the airline has changed and grown: from All American Aviation to Allegheny Airlines, to USAir, after the purchase of Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) and Piedmont, and finally changed to US Airways in 1997. In early 2010, it grew to 3 more major airlines. 270 regional aircraft operated under the US Airways Express brand and was also the largest operator of Airbus aircraft in the world.
