The presidential aircraft of the Republic of South Korean go by the call-sign “Code One”. Second and latest such aircraft is this Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental. Originally delivered new to Korean Air in 2017, she was withdrawn from use in 2021 and refurbished in VIP configuration for government use, in addition to receiving new communication and security/self-defense features. It replaced the 747-400 which had been in use since 2010 and which was the first aircraft fully dedicated and equipped for governmental use. Before 2010, High-ranking officials charted aircraft from Asiana or Korean Air, displaying the presidential seal. When official use was over, they were returned to regular commercial service.
