This release is both a premiere and a finale: it is the first model of Turkmenistan's national - and only - airline in the 1/500 scale, and at the same time the last Boeing 777-200LR built. Turkmenistan Airlines was founded in 1992, one year after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the founding of the Central Asian country. It initially operated a mix of Yakovlev, Tupolev and Antonov aircraft before switching to Boeing 737s and 757s in the early 1990s. Today, the passenger fleet consists of 13 737-700s and six Boeing 777s, including four of the ultra-long-range 777-200LR variant, which connect the country, which is rich in natural gas reserves, with destinations in Asia, as well as in Europe, such as London and Frankfurt.
