Why this kit matters

The Japanese Maritime Self‑Defense Force’s Abukuma‑class destroyer escorts, such as Chikuma (DE‑233) and Tone (DE‑234), serve in fleet escort and coastal defence roles for Japan’s modern naval forces. These vessels combine missile, gun, and anti‑submarine systems to provide balanced capabilities in multi‑threat environments.

Model kits of modern warships allow hobbyists to explore contemporary naval design and the strategic importance of escort vessels. The inclusion of two ships in a single box encourages comparison builds and enhances fleet displays, making this kit a strong choice for both individual and diorama projects.

How to use it

Carefully remove parts from the sprues and follow the detailed instruction sheet to assemble each ship. Use model glue and paint to finish the hulls, superstructures, and deck details for a professional display. Once completed, display the ships on a shelf or in a diorama setting with other naval models.

This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
