Details
Chinese and American pilots, flying side by side.
The P-40N was the most-produced version of Curtiss's P-40 Warhawk. In China, the 3rd Fighter Group formed part of the Chinese-American Composite Wing, a unique formation that paired Chinese and American aircrew in the same squadrons against Japan. Its 7th Fighter Squadron flew the P-40N in the final years of the war.
Hobby Master models P-40N 661 (P-11306), "Iron Luohan", wearing Chinese Air Force blue-and-white roundels, a striped rudder and shark-mouth nose art.
