Why this kit matters

The P-51D Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts. Designed in 1940 by North American Aviation, the Mustang first flew operationally in 1942. It's known for its speed, manoeuvrability, and its role in escorting bombers over long distances.

The Royal Australian Air Force operated P-51 Mustangs during and after World War II. These aircraft played a crucial role in the Pacific Theatre. They provided air support and reconnaissance capabilities. The Mustang's speed and firepower made it a valuable asset to the RAAF.
