The Piper PA-47 PiperJet was a prototype, single-engine, American-made airliner. The prototype flight took place in 2008, but the machine never entered mass production. The drive was provided by a single Williams FJ-44-3AP turbofan engine with a thrust of 12.5 kN. The length of the aircraft was 10.87 meters with a wingspan of 13.49 meters. The PA-47 PiperJet plane was designed and built by the Piper Aircraft aviation company as a very light jet plane (English abbreviation: VLJ), intended to compete on the commercial market with machines such as the Eclipse 500 or Cessna Citation Mustang. In order to shorten the research and development works, the manufacturer decided to use the fuselage from another plane - the PA-46 model. In the course of flight tests, the PA-47 PiperJet turned out to be a successful machine, with at least good flight parameters. However, due to considerable economic turmoil by Piper, the machine was not entered into production.
