Faller - HO/N/Z Lake
The "Seefolie" is ideal for the design of rivers, streams and lakes as well as for small waters. Since no liquids are used, which must be mixed or heated, the use of this product is extremely simple.
Whether it's trees, rocks, grass, buildings, figures, cars, parts, accessories or even rubble, FALLER everything you need to make your own model landscape. Top quality materials to make amazing dioramas for your hobby collection, or school projects.

Read before start working:
Step 1
First, roughly sketch the water contour on your surface. It does not matter if you use a wooden substructure, a hard foam board construction, or any other substrate.
Step 2
Next you have to "lift" the water. This can be done using a router, a carpet knife or - in the case of a wooden substructure - a jigsaw. More than 10 mm of embankment usually seem unrealistic.
Step 3
You can now transfer this outline to the sea foil.
Step 4
The next step is to chamfer the slope. The angle should be at least 45 ° here. However, a flatter angle results in a much more natural result.
Step 5
Now you can design the body of water. This is most easily done with the enclosed color sheet. Pick a page whose color suits you better and trim the paper to the size of the sea foil. You can cut the color sheet and the sea foil together if you staple both parts together beforehand (eg with the help of adhesive tape).
Alternatively, you can of course design your own water course yourself. To do this you can »lift« another 5 mm to get some water depth. However, leave a small edge to get a circumferential bearing surface of the sea foil. Now you can design the waterbed with colors, small stones or rubbish (bathtub, bicycle, car tires, etc.).
Always make sure that in the model too large a depth of water and bright colors quickly seem unrealistic. Blue is just a swimming pool!
Step 6
Now you can model the embankment or small islands with the help of FALLER filler
(Art. 180500) and thus optimally adjust the transition to the sea foil.
Step 7
Design the shore area depending on the environment you want to display on your diorama or model layout. The best way to do this is to use the brown pre-colored landscape glue Colofix-Color (Art. 170660). Then sprinkle the desired materials, eg FALLER PREMIUM litter material (item 170728) into the still wet glue. You can also detach sections of our landscape segments (eg Art. 180474) and distribute them on the embankment. The best result is obtained when you finally insert different grass fibers into the still wet glue with the help of the grassing device "Gras-Fix" (article 180691).
Step 8
Finally, it is necessary to work out the small details. By placing floats, boats, animals or similar on the water surface (swimmers can be divided with a craft knife). The perfect water surface can be obtained by granulating. To do this, wipe a thin layer of white paint onto the surface with a nearly dry brush. Make sure to use this effect only in a few well-dosed areas, because too much granulated surface also tends to be unnatural again.
