The Taki 35000 is the first "standard tank car" jointly designed by vehicle manufacturers, and is a 35t black tank freight car with 1108 cars manufactured from 1966. From the JNR era to recent years, it has been active in various places, and on the main line where high-speed running is required, it gave up its position to the successor Taki 43000 and Taki 1000.
The Taki 35000 for jet fuel transportation to the US military Yokota Air Base is a popular tank freight car commonly known as "US Tan". A "JP-8" sticker indicating kerosene-based jet fuel is affixed.
The traction machine was changed from EF64-1000 to EH200 from the revision in March 2008, and it was active as a dedicated train for 15-car train between Waishima and Anzen.
