Why this model matters

The 5 Plank Wagon was a key freight design used for coal, stone, timber, and general goods. Its higher sides allowed more flexible loading compared to earlier 3 plank designs.

The early BR grey livery represents the transition period after nationalisation in 1948. It shows how British Rail standardised wagon appearance while continuing to rely on proven pre-war designs.

What kind of freight traffic would you run through your layout using early British Rail wagons like this?

How to use it

This is a ready-to-run OO scale wagon. Place it on compatible OO gauge track and couple it to your locomotive or freight consist.

No assembly, paint, glue, or modelling tools are required. Check couplings before running for smooth operation.

This is a plastic model. It is not a toy.
