Why this kit matters

The USS Shamrock Bay (CVE-84) was a Casablanca-class escort carrier that served with distinction during World War II. Commissioned in 1944, she played a vital role in supporting amphibious operations and providing air cover for Allied forces in the Pacific Theatre. Her aircraft and crew contributed to several key battles, including the liberation of the Philippines and the Battle of Okinawa.

Escort carriers like the Shamrock Bay were essential for anti-submarine warfare, convoy protection, and close air support. Their versatility and reliability made them a backbone of the US Navy’s carrier fleet during the war. Building this model offers a hands-on connection to naval history and honours the legacy of those who served aboard these remarkable ships.
