The ship's unique layout and historical importance make it a fascinating subject for model builders. The Nelson was part of the Nelson-class battleships, designed under the constraints of the Washington Naval Treaty. Its service included participation in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theatres, providing naval gunfire support during the Normandy landings.
