Why this kit matters
The Sd.Kfz. 232 6 Rad was an early German heavy armoured car developed in the 1930s for reconnaissance duties. Built on a six wheeled truck chassis, it combined mobility with radio communication equipment, identified by its large frame aerial mounted above the hull. Armed with a 20 mm cannon and machine gun, it could engage light targets while scouting ahead of armoured units.
These vehicles saw service during the early campaigns of the Second World War, including Poland and France. While later replaced by eight wheeled designs with improved cross country performance, the 6 Rad series represents an important stage in German armoured vehicle development. A 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the Sd.Kfz. 232 adds historical depth to any early-war collection.
